The PLAYERS 2018 is upon us  (May 8th - 13th). Once again the top 5 players in the Official World Golf Ranking will compete to bring home the hardware and an estimated $1.9 million winner's purse. And as exciting as all that is, what gets us Golf Ball Divers stoked is the face-off between the players and the infamous golf ball gobbling 17th hole (pictured below) at the PLAYERS TPC Sawgrass' Stadium Course.

If it’s not golf’s toughest water hazard, it might be its most famous. With its island green, it’s the course's shortest (137 yards) and most dramatic hole. Here the best players are only a swing away from a round-ruining, double-bogey or worse. And a lucky golf ball diver is only a splash away from a barely played tournament-quality golf ball.

You can see why we love this hole. And next time you play a used golf ball, stop and wonder who may have hit it last. Dustin Johnson? Si Woo Kim? You just don't know. Unless they signed it.
